The Financial Development-Environmental Degradation Nexus in Bangladesh: A Long-Run Co-Integration Approach

Using annual time series data from 1983 to 2019, this study examines the impact of economic growth, exports, energy consumption, and financial development on environmental deterioration in Bangladesh. The long-run cointegration variables is investigated using Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS) Fully Modified OLS (FMOLS) approaches. co-integration demonstrates a long-term relationship between dependent variable independent variables. findings reveal that long run primary determinants carbon dioxide emissions are export, emissions. Except for result shows development, export have statistically significant with degradation (CO2 ecological footprint). Environmental Kuznets Curve, quadratic term expansion, negative (EKC). key show emphasize need sound policies more equal as well as, environmentally sustainable services. According findings, government should prioritize programs reduce by strengthening sectors. Also consider role it plays slowing hence, directly enhancing quality
